When you're young your mind is a sponge to be filled up with knowledge
before old age demolishes every brain cell
and my Dad knew this well
as he sat me down on his knee
at the ripe old age of three.

He said "son, the reason that i've brought you up here, it has nothing to do with cheap booze, drugs women or beer, but to pass on a mystery from father to son, that has given joy to me.
So listen carefully"...he said:

"Poking animals with sticks in the zoo is a very pleasant pastime to pursue.
Prodding a deer in its ear whilst it's sleeping is a pleasure you can't measure, though the encounters fleeting.

Don't feel bad, they get fed, they get bored. So go at an otter with a sharpened stick sword!
