I was the toast of high society
A darling of the soiree
To be seen with me the only way to be seen at all
But this like of fur and pearl
Bored this good old country girl
Who only climbed this ladder
thanks to papa's magnetic roulette wheel.
So in search of some adventure
such monotony in splendour
I crossed the tracks and headed up town
and there sippin on his chaser
sat a wild eyed aviator
Who said “Baby gee, its extraordinary
how your feet don't tough the ground”
And now I've never felt like this before
Flying higher than the eagle soars,
I'm a cloud
I've never felt like this before
Flying loop di loop
Sha wap de doop doop oh yeah!
No dreary Rockefeller
can wind up my propeller
wind up my propeller
I've never felt like this before!
Chocks Away!

I'm fresh as a daisy I'm sprunger than spring,
I'm fit as a flea on your knee I'm happily dandling.
I've made the big time, Its finally all mine!
So see you later mashed potato Au revoir I'll perkulator
I've more boom than a dropped bomb
Its all about to happen
Things are lookin bright
I'm up away and shootin' for the sun!

Handsome what is your poison?
Choose wisely then off we to bed.
To dream of pink elephants and unheard of elements
lest we carve a notch in your bed
The spirits they can be deceiving,
the darkness made it hard to tell
where you lost your bottle, tomorrow I’ll hobble
and we'll both end up drinking in hell!
Singing la la la good health and good riddance to you!
La la la good health and good riddance to you!

Toss A Coin
05:19

Street lamps glow the faces of an audience leaving
As the last taxi splits you can hear the wind breathing
And the sun, she awakens in her blazing majesty
She gives life perpetually
And for that she's just ordinary
Another shift down in this unsure old town
Of those stars still burning, who is rising, who is falling?
Who's about to bow out having given their all?
Who's about to burn out having lost it all?
Toss a coin in the Hudson
wake the tide from its sleep
When will it be over and when will it start for me?
So far down the path there's no real way back
Held my nerve at each crossroads and missed rent panic
Now my makeup it thicker and my skin so much thinner
and to remove the blinkers reveals the bleakest of Winters.
Toss a coin in the Hudson
wake the tide from its sleep
When will it be over and when will it start for me?
You only knew you were up cos you're crashing back down
Its all just the whim of this mad merry-go-round
so I'l stick in my spoon and i'l feast till i'm sick
so I'm fattened up and fighting when it all turns to shit.
Toss a coin in the Hudson
wake the tide from its sleep
When will it be over and when will it start?
When will it be over and when will it start?
When will it be over and when will it start?
So handsome what is your poison?
Choose wisely then off we to bed.
To dream of life's elements shared out in fair measurements
but fate's cards stay close to his chest
The spirits they can be deceiving
The darkness makes it hard to tell
Which way you are going sinking of floating?
So drink up and dam it to hell!
